This notice explains how Lichen handles website, contact, strategy review, client advisory, analytics, and communication information.

Last updated: July 29, 2026

Who this notice covers

This privacy notice applies to Lichen, Inc. and to information collected through hellolichen.com, email, scheduling tools, strategy review forms, advisory workflows, client communications, and related company systems.

Information Lichen receives

Lichen may receive names, email addresses, phone numbers, organization names, roles, website and referral context, meeting details, public opportunity context, source-file status, deadlines, public records, client-provided materials, and messages sent through forms, email, calendar tools, phone calls, text messages, or advisory workflows.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to inquiries, prepare for strategy reviews, assess fit, coordinate meetings, maintain relationship and operating records, support public-sector pursuit and funding workflows, provide advisory services, improve website performance, and protect Lichen systems.

SMS and mobile information

If you choose to provide a mobile number and opt in to text messages, Lichen may use that number to send appointment, scheduling, client care, intake, document, follow-up, sales follow-up after consent, and service coordination messages. Message frequency varies by relationship and active work. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.

Lichen does not sell mobile numbers or SMS consent information. Lichen does not share, sell, rent, or provide mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent status to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information may be processed by communications, hosting, CRM, analytics, security, and professional service providers that help Lichen operate, subject to appropriate service-provider limitations.

Website analytics and consent

Lichen uses essential site storage for basic website operation. Analytics and advertising storage (analytics, ad storage, ad personalization, and ad user data) are granted by default so visitors can be measured and identified for marketing, and a visitor may opt out at any time from the site’s Privacy & Analytics control. An opt-out is applied before any tag fires on later visits.

Service providers and tools

Lichen may use Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, HubSpot, scheduling tools, Twilio, hosting providers, document tools, and related cloud systems to operate the company and serve prospective and active clients. These providers may process limited technical, contact, form, meeting, document, message, or interaction data to provide their services to Lichen.

Source materials and sensitive information

Do not send confidential, privileged, restricted, or nonpublic source-selection information unless a proper engagement, review process, and advisor boundary are in place. Lichen works from lawful public records, client-provided materials, and clearly identified source boundaries.

Sharing and sale of information

Lichen does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the site, email, analytics, scheduling, communications, document workflows, CRM, or client systems, or when required to comply with law, protect systems, enforce terms, or complete an authorized engagement.

Retention and choices

Lichen keeps information for as long as it is useful for the purpose received, required for business records, or needed to protect legal and operational interests. You may request access, correction, deletion, or a review of your information by contacting Lichen. Some records may be retained where required for security, legal, accounting, compliance, or engagement history reasons.
